Fans React Strongly as Al-Hilal CEO Discusses Ronaldo Transfer

Riyadh: Rumors of Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible move to Al-Hilal continue despite fan backlash and official silence. The Portugal captain, currently with bitter rivals Al-Nassr, was close to a loan deal to play for Al-Hilal during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States before returning to Al-Nassr for the Saudi Pro League season.

The move was scrapped due to fan outrage from both sides, given the fierce rivalry between the clubs. Ronaldo, frustrated by Al-Nassr’s recent lack of trophies despite his scoring prowess, has long been linked to Al-Hilal. His contract with Al-Nassr expires on June 30, fueling the speculation.

Al-Hilal CEO Esteve Calzada declined to confirm any contact, calling rumors “a recurring situation” whenever a star’s contract nears its end. He emphasized Al-Hilal’s strong squad and clear strategy but did not rule out future changes. The saga leaves fans eagerly waiting.
