Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a new initiative for startups and earmarked Rs 10,000 crore in Budget 2025 to boost innovation and entrepreneurship and support their growth and success in the global economy. The move is expected to contribute to the development of India’s business ecosystem, employment generation and economic growth.
The plan will focus on providing high-yield financing to startups in sectors such as technology, healthcare, renewable energy and manufacturing. The government has announced its commitment to creating an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs to innovate without financial constraints. The plan also includes cheaper credit, working capital and government subsidies to boost new businesses.
The announcement was welcomed by entrepreneurs and industry leaders who see it as a significant step towards India leading a new wave of innovation. By supporting startups at this critical stage, the government hopes to position India as a global leader in startups.
