Government Takes Notice of Reports on Pakistani Journalists’ Visit to Israel

Islamabad: The Foreign Office has denied reports regarding Pakistani journalists visiting Israel, stating that such a visit is not possible under the current regulations.

Responding to questions about the alleged visit, the Foreign Office spokesperson clarified that the Pakistani government has taken notice of these reports. The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistani passports explicitly state that they are "not valid for travel to Israel," making any such visit impossible under existing regulations.

The spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance on Israel, stating that Pakistan does not recognize Israel and continues to steadfastly support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. This includes the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to a just and peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

Earlier, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that there was no information regarding any Pakistanis traveling to Israel and that there had been no change in Pakistan’s position on recognizing Israel.

During the weekly press briefing, the spokesperson said that reports about a Pakistani delegation visiting Israel were learned from the media, adding that an individual had tweeted about traveling to Israel. He further stated that the Foreign Office had no knowledge of this visit but was gathering information on the matter. A clear statement could only be made once further details were available. However, Pakistan’s stance on recognizing Israel remains unchanged.

Notably, a report by Independent Urdu, citing Israeli media, claimed that a Pakistani delegation had recently visited Tel Aviv and occupied Jerusalem.

According to Israel Hayom, the visit was organized by the Israeli non-governmental organization Sharakah, which works to improve Israel’s relations with Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
