The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has introduced a new framework to track health research and development (R&D) spending within the UAE's health sector. The framework aims to increase transparency and efficiency in data collection, supporting evidence-based decisions that improve health planning and performance.
The initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation between health, academic, and private-sector entities, promoting partnerships to enhance health-sector R&D. The framework follows global standards from UNESCO and OECD, guiding health authorities and institutions to measure expenditures accurately.
Dr Amin Hussain Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Health Regulations, highlighted the UAE's significant growth in health R&D investment, stressing its role in establishing the country as a global leader in health research and innovation.
