Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during which he extended his best wishes for the health and well-being of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
According to reports, the two leaders discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues. Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia’s consistent support on Pakistan’s stance in its dispute with India. He reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue with India on all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir and the Indus Waters Treaty.
The two leaders also exchanged views on the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s full support for de-escalation in the region, advocating for peaceful solutions through dialogue and diplomacy.
Referring to the recent attacks in the region, the Prime Minister urged all parties to exercise restraint in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and regional integrity in this context.
Prime Minister Sharif also lauded Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his wise leadership and efforts to restore peace in the region. He stated that such initiatives reflect Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role as a global peace guarantor and a leading voice of the Muslim Ummah.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman thanked the Prime Minister for the call and appreciated Pakistan’s solidarity and steadfast support for the Kingdom. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in seeking a peaceful resolution to the recent conflict.
The Crown Prince affirmed Saudi Arabia’s strong commitment to lasting peace and prosperity in the Middle East.
