Swabi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has advised making wise decisions for the country's welfare, stating that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is willing to engage in dialogue for the nation's sake.
PTI held a public rally in Swabi on February 8 to protest alleged rigging in the general elections. The gathering was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, PTI MNAs, MPAs, senators, and other party leaders.
Addressing the rally, Barrister Gohar said that the public's enthusiasm for their vote remains unchanged even after a year. He emphasized the importance of political stability and stated that democracy would be strengthened if votes were counted transparently. He urged the need to find a path forward for the country and make prudent decisions in the national interest.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, in his speech, accused the government of creating a rift between PTI and the military.
On the other hand, PTI observed a "Black Day" across the country in protest against alleged election rigging. Rallies were held in Karachi and various other cities.
In Multan, three PTI leaders and several workers were arrested for violating Section 144 during the protest. Among those detained were PTI leader Mehr Bano Qureshi and Zahid Bahar Hashmi, son-in-law of senior politician Javed Hashmi. However, later in the night, all arrested individuals, including Mehr Bano Qureshi, were released.
