Ramadan Giving: SR1.4bn Donated to Saudi Housing Campaign

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Jood Regions 2 housing campaign has received over SR1.4 billion ($373 million) in donations and agreements, according to the report on Thursday.

The initiative, aimed at securing housing for families in need, has received SR 100 million from King Salman and SR 50 million from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reflecting the leadership’s commitment to housing stability for 8,690 families across the Kingdom.

Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing and chairman of the Sakani Foundation board, praised the campaign’s success as a symbol of national unity and commitment to sustainable development.

Sakani Secretary-General Abdulaziz Al-Kraidis highlighted the importance of community participation in improving lives, emphasizing that the initiative strengthens collaboration among government, private, and civil society sectors in charitable housing efforts.

A key contributor to the campaign’s success is the Wad Al-Iskan platform, a Sakani initiative that enables online contributions, enhancing social solidarity by allowing individuals to help families obtain adequate housing.

Launched during Ramadan 2024, the Jood Regions campaign aims to provide over 10,000 housing units across Saudi Arabia’s 13 provinces. It includes awareness programs and community engagement efforts, bringing together entrepreneurs and leaders to ensure accessible and reliable housing solutions, in line with the Kingdom’s developmental housing initiatives.
