Riyadh Event Showcases Women’s Role in Diplomacy

RIYADH: The Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh held a symposium in celebration of the upcoming International Day of Women in Diplomacy.

The event was attended by Vice Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji, female diplomatic leaders, and ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom. In his remarks, Elkhereiji highlighted the Kingdom’s progress in empowering women in the diplomatic field, citing the support of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman under the Vision 2030 reform agenda.

He noted that Saudi women now hold prominent roles as ambassadors, leaders, and international negotiators, reflecting their growing presence on the global diplomatic stage.

Discussions during the symposium focused on advancing women’s careers in diplomacy, the role of men in driving inclusive change, and the unique perspectives women bring to international relations. Participants also explored the increasing global presence of women diplomats, their influence on policy, and strategies to boost female participation in multilateral forums to address future global challenges.
