RIYADH: The Saudi Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called on India and Pakistan to avoid further escalation and resolve their disputes through diplomatic means.
In a statement, the ministry said, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expresses its concern regarding the escalating tension between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
It urged both sides to “reduce tensions and resolve disputes through diplomatic means.”
The Saudi appeal comes amid rising tensions between the two neighboring countries following a deadly attack near the resort town of Pahalgam in India-administered Kashmir, which left 26 people dead.
Pakistan claimed it has “credible intelligence” that India intends to launch military action in response. India, meanwhile, said it has identified the three attackers, including two Pakistani nationals.
