The thriving mobile manufacturing sector in the region has now reported an impressive export value of Rs 1.5 lakh crore in January 2025. That makes a clear statement in terms of developing India as a bright star in the global technology sky. Exports were further supported by increasing manufacturing capacity and cost competitiveness towards producing high-quality mobile phones, the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) said. The success is the gallant story of several government influencing schemes like Production Linked Incentive (PLI) or Make in India campaigns that attracted tech giants into setting up manufacturing bases in India.
Mobile exports have changed India's fortunes as a manufacturing hub for electronics. Several international companies including Apple, Samsung, and others have been ramping up their operations in India in recent years. Government efforts have also encouraged the local players to put in state-of-the-art facilities, thus, increasing production. This lets India not only serve its domestic demand but also positions itself as an important player in the global supply chain. This increasing export is expected to further generate employment and boost the country's export economy in future years.
India's mobile manufacturing exports are fast picking up speed, which augurs well for the economy of the country. January 2025 flagged the beginning and is likely going to see continued flow, say experts, for their anticipation is bolstered by the always rising demand for cell phones in the world. For India, this would become an emblem of resilience, innovation, and competitive spirit in the international arena of electronic manufacturing. There will always be buoyancy for success considering the opportunity from government and industry stakeholders.
