ISLAMABAD – The federal government has called in the Pakistan Army to manage the unrest sparked by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) protests in the capital. A notification issued by the Ministry of Interior confirmed the deployment under Article 245 of the Constitution, granting the military authority to restore order and enforce curfews where necessary. Officials have warned that lawbreakers will face decisive action. Parliament Secured Amid Heightened Security Measures Security forces have stationed troops at critical sites, including Parliament House on Constitution Avenue. Sources revealed that strict directives have been issued to neutralize any disruptions on the spot to ensure public safety and security.

Protest Turns Violent: Rangers Targeted. The protests took a tragic turn on Srinagar Highway, where agitators rammed a vehicle into Rangers personnel, resulting in the martyrdom of four Rangers officials and leaving five others injured. Additionally, two police officers were seriously wounded. So far, security sources report six martyrs—four Rangers and two police officers—alongside more than 100 injured law enforcement officials, many of whom are in critical condition. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasizing zero tolerance for acts of violence or disruption.
