Ceasefire Achieved Between Tribes in Kurram District

Parachinar, Pakistan – A ceasefire has been successfully implemented between warring tribes across Kurram District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing an end to days of violent clashes. Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud confirmed that after the ceasefire, armed tribal members have been removed from their positions, and police and security forces have been deployed to ensure stabilityEfforts to restore normalcy include engaging tribal elders through a jirga to negotiate a peace agreement and reopen blocked routes. DC Mehsud also mentioned that tribal elders and parliamentarians from Kohat Division will visit Kurram District to mediate and finalize an agreement. The violence in the region, including attacks on passenger vehicles, has claimed the lives of 130 individuals and left 186 injured over the past several days. Security measures and peace-building efforts are underway to prevent further escalations.
