The coup plot in Brazil has been exposed since the Brazilian police took into custody a former Prime Minister’s cabinet member, which has come forth as one of the investigations that aim to expose the aspiring coup members. However, as a result of the former official’s arrest, other officials across Brazil are left wondering about their position under the exposing hierarchy of plotting which aims to destroy Brazil’s political framework.
There are various allegations over a number of individuals suspected of trying to stage a political coup as members of a sabotage group, and the former official in matters addressed above has been assumed to be one of the central commands in the coup conspiracy while back in power. The arrest has triggered other investigations where authorities seem to be targeting individuals who were involved in manipulating democratic election processes.
The aftermath of the election where Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva overcame ex-President Torres aggravated the matter for Brazilian authorities as there seems to be a growing risk of political instability as one narrows down onto various factors such as tensions rising amongst da Silva supporters and da Silva, while members of the Torres administration are angry that their election did not yield the desired results. The Brazilian police together with the judiciary have clothed democracy in security and protection, which has begun to take root in the face of the leftist fascism espoused by the Bolsonarists. This also stands as a stark reminder of the continued division in Brazilian politics regarding the country’s politics.
I don’t believe that it is just this arrest that is, in fact, a move against coup mongers. The Brazilian presiding officer underscored the sovereignty of the people and the anti-democracy campaign that marked his predecessor’s administration post-2006. This supposed coup d’etat drama captured the interest of many countries as how Brazil deals with this situation is something many would want to watch. There are so many realities in society that simply cannot coexist, and somehow the people of Brazil will have to learn to take this monumental feat on as the world looks on
