According to a report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Saudi Arabia saw a 61% increase in foreign visitor arrivals during the first nine months of 2024, placing it third internationally in terms of the highest growth rates.
The Kingdom's dedication to growing and improving the tourism industry is demonstrated by these accomplishments, which highlight the effectiveness of the Ministry of Tourism's strategy and ambitious plans as well as the coordinated efforts of the industry to meet the objectives of Vision 2030.
Furthermore, Saudi Arabia advanced 15 spots to take 12th place globally in 2023 compared to 2019 in the global ranking for foreign visitor expenditure. Reiterating its important position on the global tourism map, the Kingdom also led the G20 countries in the growth of foreign visitor numbers during the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019.
The Kingdom effectively raised the tourist sector's GDP contribution from 3% to 5% throughout the course of the eight-year Vision 2030 program, with the goal of reaching 10% by 2030.
