Bollywood Actor Mukul Dev Dies at 54

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Mukul Dev passed away at the age of 54 on Friday night. The news of his sudden death surfaced on Saturday, prompting close friends and colleagues to gather at his residence.

As of now, the cause of his death remains unknown, and his family has released no official statement.

Mukul Dev was known for his roles in popular films such as Son of Sardaar, R… Rajkumar, and Jai Ho. He was last seen in the Hindi film Anth The End.

His close friend and actress Deepshikha Nagpal confirmed the news on social media. She shared a heartfelt tribute via her Instagram Story and posted a throwback picture with the caption, "RIP."

Born in New Delhi to a Punjabi family with ancestral ties near Jalandhar, Mukul Dev was the younger brother of actor Rahul Dev. His father, Hari Dev, served as an assistant commissioner of police and was keenly interested in Afghan culture.

He also spoke fluent Pashto and Persian, which influenced Mukul's early exposure to diverse cultures.

Mukul Dev's first experience in entertainment came in the eighth grade when he earned his first paycheck impersonating Michael Jackson during a Doordarshan dance program. Before becoming an actor, he trained as a pilot at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi.

His acting career began in 1996 with the TV serial Mumkin, where he played Vijay Pandey. He gained further recognition through the Doordarshan comedy show Ek Se Badh Kar Ek and later hosted the first season of Fear Factor India.

Mukul made his Bollywood debut in Dastak, playing ACP Rohit Malhotra opposite former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, who was also making her film debut.

Mukul Dev's contributions to Indian cinema and television made him a respected figure in the industry. His sudden demise has left fans and peers in shock as tributes continue to pour in.
