Comeback in Motion: Ezra Miller Joins Ramsay for Film

Los Angeles: Actor Ezra Miller is considering a return to Hollywood after years away from the spotlight. Known for roles in Justice League, We Need to Talk About Kevin, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, the 32-year-old actor has begun discussions with acclaimed director Lynne Ramsay about a new film project.

Miller made a public appearance at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, held from May 13 to May 24, where Ramsay’s latest film, Die, My Love, featured in the main competition. Speaking to Lo Speciale Giornale, Miller confirmed his plans to reunite with Ramsay. “I came to Cannes to support one of my closest friends... I’m working with her again. That will likely be the first thing I do,” he said, adding that the two are co-writing the project.

This marks Miller’s tentative re-entry into the film world after a series of legal issues in 2022, including assault, burglary, and other controversies, which led to arrests and public backlash. The actor has since maintained a low profile and has been absent from the cinema.

Reflecting on that difficult period, Miller expressed remorse and said he is thankful for the lessons learned. “I’m grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss,” he noted. He admitted returning to Cannes wasn’t easy, calling it “a tough re-entry point.”

Miller also shared that writing has been a form of solace. “I’ve been writing a lot because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me,” he said.

His most recent film appearance was in The Flash (2023), directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Michael Keaton, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck.
