Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir chaired the 268th Corps Commanders' Conference at the General Headquarters (GHQ), where the country’s top military brass reaffirmed their resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of the cost.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum reviewed the prevailing geo-strategic environment, emerging national security challenges, and Pakistan’s strategic responses to those threats. The conference paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who laid down their lives for the peace and stability of the nation.
The forum emphasized that full force would be used against terrorists, their facilitators, and supporters, particularly in Balochistan, where no one would be allowed to disrupt peace. It expressed firm resolve to thwart the nefarious designs of externally sponsored proxies and socio-political elements attempting to destabilize the province under the guise of political motives.
Participants reiterated that all internal and external elements conspiring to create chaos have been exposed and will be dealt with firmly and without leniency.
The forum stressed the need for swift and effective implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) under the theme “Vision, Resolve, Stability,” and called for a unified national approach. It affirmed that all state institutions would act strictly within constitutional boundaries and enforce the law without compromise.
General Munir appreciated the establishment of District Coordination Committees across the country and urged accelerated efforts and inter-institutional cooperation to implement NAP effectively, as per government directives.
The Army Chief reaffirmed the military's full support to government and law enforcement agencies in cracking down on illicit economic activities linked to terror financing, stating that there would be no space for terrorists or their facilitators in Pakistan.
The conference also expressed grave concern over continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and condemned unprovoked ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces. The forum reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just cause of the Kashmiri people and called for continued diplomatic efforts to highlight the issue on international platforms.
Expressing complete solidarity with the Palestinian people, the forum strongly condemned human rights abuses and war crimes in Gaza and reaffirmed Pakistan's diplomatic, political, and moral support for the Palestinian cause.
Concluding the conference, COAS General Asim Munir directed field commanders to maintain the highest levels of operational readiness and professional excellence, ensuring rigorous training to uphold war preparedness.
