Dubai World Trade Centre Hosts Arab Media Summit 2025

DUBAI: The Arab Media Summit 2025 will be held from May 26 to 28 at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. 

Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the event is being guided by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. 

This high-profile gathering will bring together key figures from the Arab world, including senior government officials, media leaders, influencers, and thinkers, to discuss the changing landscape of the media industry.

The Summit will feature well-known personalities such as the Grand Imam of Al Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shibani. 

On the third day of the event, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, will deliver a keynote speech at the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit, focusing on the topic “Media’s Role in the Age of Algorithms.” 

Another highlight will be a session with Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, who will discuss how social media and digital platforms can support public communication strategies.

The Summit aims to strengthen regional media collaboration. A special panel will include Arab Ministers of Information such as Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi from Kuwait, Dr. Ramzan Al Noaimi from Bahrain, Paul Morcos from Lebanon, Ahmed Al-Muslimani from Egypt, and Abdullah Al Hamed from the UAE. 

Together, they will explore ways to bridge public and private media sectors to build a unified Arab media voice.

Dr. Ghassan Salameh, Minister of Culture of Lebanon, will also speak at the event, sharing his thoughts on achieving regional stability and the media’s role in supporting it.

A special session featuring British journalist and media figure Piers Morgan will add to the international perspective of the Summit.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Chairperson of the Dubai Press Club, highlighted that the Summit comes at a time when the world is experiencing major geopolitical, economic, and technological shifts. 

She said the event serves as a platform to explore these challenges and how the media can adapt to keep the public informed. 

She emphasized that the Summit promotes partnerships between media and other vital sectors, showing Dubai’s growing influence as a hub for media innovation and dialogue in the Arab region.

Al Marri stressed the importance of a united Arab strategy to tackle challenges facing the media, especially with the rapid growth of technology. 

She said the Summit encourages new ideas, collaboration, and initiatives that can help shape the future of Arab media.

The Arab Media Summit will also include several important events such as the Arab Media Forum, Arab Youth Media Forum, Arab Media Award, Ibda’a the Arab Youth Media Award, and the Arab Social Media Influencers Summit and Award.
