Ramallah: Five Palestinians, including three children aged six, seven, and twelve, were injured by rocket shrapnel near the town of Sa’ir, close to Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. The incident took place amid escalating tensions linked to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
The injured were quickly taken to hospital for treatment, according to Wafa, which cited the Palestine Red Crescent Society as the source of the information. The three children among the wounded highlight the civilian impact of the wider regional hostilities.
This attack occurred during a period of intense exchanges of fire after Israel launched airstrikes targeting residential and military sites across Tehran. The ongoing conflict has sparked concern over the spread of violence to neighboring areas, including the West Bank.
In response to the rising tensions, Israel has implemented widespread closures throughout the occupied West Bank. These measures include blocked roads, the establishment of new checkpoints, and severe restrictions on Palestinian freedom of movement.
These restrictions have further strained daily life for Palestinians and increased instability in the region. The developments illustrate how the Israel-Iran conflict is affecting not only the immediate combatants but also neighboring communities caught in the crossfire.
