Bajwa emphasized the depth of the relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, stating, “How can any country do such a thing, especially with which we have such friendship?” He highlighted that during Bushra Bibi’s visit, she was granted access to the Kaaba and the Shrine of the Prophet, receiving numerous gifts.

He noted that Bushra Bibi traveled to Saudi Arabia for her daughter’s marriage and recalled accompanying Imran Khan and Bushra on another trip to the kingdom in 2021. “How can a country talk about the implementation of Sharia law when Saudi Arabia has provided billions of dollars in rollover support?” he questioned, expressing confusion over her remarks.

Bajwa expressed concern over the implications of Bushra Bibi’s statements, suggesting that they might be part of a narrative being constructed by Imran Khan. He remarked, “It seems that Bushra Bibi has started talking about Sharia to bring people together,” and voiced his worries about the potential impact of such claims.

He assured that his relations with Saudi Arabia have remained strong, noting that only one statement by Shah Mahmood Qureshi had previously caused any disturbance in those ties.
