Houthi Missile Launched from Yemen caught by Israeli Defense Forces

Sanaa: This afternoon, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that a ballistic missile was launched from Yemen by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The missile triggered air raid sirens across central Israel, creating widespread alarm for a brief period before the missile was intercepted by Israel's air defense systems.

According to reports, no injuries or major damage were recorded after the interception. However, shrapnel from the missile was later found near Hebron in the West Bank, indicating that fragments of the missile had traveled a significant distance.

This incident is part of a series of recent attacks by the Houthis. The rebels have repeatedly launched missile and drone strikes against Israel in recent months.

In March this year, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a hypersonic missile strike aimed at Ben Gurion Airport. These actions are seen as part of the Houthis' declared support for Palestinians amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza war.

The attack highlights the increasing volatility in the region, with tensions rising between Iran-backed forces and Israel. The incident also underscores the challenges faced by air defense systems in a complex, multi-front conflict
