Hong Kong: In an exciting revelation from the capital of Hong Kong cinema, legendary actor Jackie Chan confirmed that Rush Hour 4 is in development.
The 71-year-old action star announced during a recent interview with Screen Rant while promoting his latest film, Karate Kid: Legends, which hits global theaters on May 30. Chan was asked about the possibility of a sequel to the iconic 1998 action-comedy Rush Hour, directed by Brett Ratner.
In response, Chan enthusiastically said, “Yes! And I want to do [another] Shanghai Dawn, Shanghai Noon, Shanghai Knights, and Shanghai Dawn.” He clarified that while the script is in progress, the development status remains unclear.
Chan jokingly added, “Ask the director, the studio, and the writer. Hurry up! Otherwise, Chris Tucker and I will be 100 years old. We’ll be old men doing Rush Hour.”
The original Rush Hour film featured Chan and Chris Tucker as culturally clashing cops forced to work together, a dynamic that made the franchise a global hit. This update has sparked renewed excitement among fans awaiting the return of the beloved duo.
