Khamenei Warns U.S. of “Irreparable Damage” if It Enters Israel-Iran War

Tehran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the United States on Wednesday that it would face serious consequences if it gets involved in the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.

Speaking in a televised address, Khamenei said,

“Any U.S. military intervention will bring irreparable damage. The harm to America will be far worse than anything Iran might suffer.”

He directly responded to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, who had demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” and claimed that the U.S. now has full control of the skies over Iran.

Khamenei dismissed Trump’s threats as “absurd,” saying:

“The Iranian nation is not afraid. Those kinds of threats might work on others, but not on us.”

Tensions rose further after Trump warned on Tuesday that the U.S. knows where Khamenei is hiding, and claimed he could be targeted “but not for now.” He also warned Iran not to fire missiles at civilians or American soldiers, saying U.S. patience is “wearing thin.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry also spoke out, warning that U.S. involvement could lead to a full-scale regional war. A spokesman said,

"We believe our Arab neighbors, who host U.S. bases, will not allow their land to be used against fellow Muslim countries.”

While Trump has said he wants a real end to the conflict, not just a ceasefire, the recent statements from both sides suggest that the risk of a wider war is growing quickly.
