Socotra: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a new water infrastructure project in Hadibu District, Socotra Governorate, aimed at improving access to clean water in remote Yemeni communities.
This project includes the construction of a 40-cubic-meter stone-built surface reservoir and a 6,300-meter-long water supply network. The project is expected to benefit over 300 people across three neighboring villages, including more than 48 households in the most underserved areas.
Over the past two months, relief efforts for Yemen have faced major funding shortfalls, with the 2025 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan only 9% funded as of mid-May, forcing agencies to drastically reduce life-saving aid.
This effort is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader development strategy, implemented through KSrelief, to support rural populations in Yemen with sustainable solutions that enhance living conditions and meet essential needs.
