New Creative Space in Sharjah!

The Sharjah Creative Quarter (SCQ) is set to become a major cultural and artistic hub, featuring a new jewellery arts school, a fashion lab, and a design centre.

Designed by Taller de Arquitectura—Mauricio Rocha in collaboration with Daniel Rosselló, SCQ will be located near the House of Wisdom, American University of Sharjah, and Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park.

A Space for Creativity and Innovation

Issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the project aims to support artists, designers, and innovators. Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Art Foundation, will lead the initiative.

Key Landmarks in SCQ

  • Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi Collection – A museum showcasing a special selection of art and historical artefacts.
  • Qasimi Archives – Honouring Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi, founder of the QASIMI fashion label, and inspiring future fashion designers.
  • Sharjah Fashion Lab – A space for local designers to create fashion prototypes using advanced technology.
  • Irthi Museum – Dedicated to Emirati and regional crafts, empowering traditional artisans.

A Sustainable and Innovative Design

SCQ will feature eco-friendly materials like rammed earth, reducing environmental impact. Designed to blend nature with architecture, the space will include patios and plazas to encourage interaction and creativity.

BEEAH, known for its sustainable projects, will oversee the development of the Quarter. Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of BEEAH, emphasized their goal of making SCQ a global centre for culture and innovation.

Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi expressed excitement about the project, calling it a vibrant space where creativity and art will thrive. The Sharjah Creative Quarter is expected to reshape the emirate’s artistic and design landscape, strengthening its global reputation in the creative industry.
