Islamabad: Pakistan has witnessed a notable increase in textile product exports during the ongoing fiscal year, both on an annual and monthly basis. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country earned $9.085 billion in foreign exchange from textile exports during the first six months of the current fiscal year. This reflects a 9.7% increase compared to the $8.283 billion earned in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In December 2024, textile exports were recorded at $1.477 billion, marking a 1.1% increase compared to November's $1.461 billion and a 5.5% rise from $1.400 billion in December 2023.
During the first half of the fiscal year, key contributions to textile exports included:
Knitwear: $2.566 billion
Ready-made garments: $2.044 billion
Bedwear: $1.580 billion
Cotton apparel: $965 million
Towels: $530 million
Cotton yarn: $365 million
These figures highlight the resilience and growth of Pakistan's textile sector despite global economic challenges.
