Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a review meeting to assess the performance and initiatives of the Ministry of Information Technology. The meeting focused on strategies to boost IT exports and enhance the country's digital workforce.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the measures taken to achieve the target of increasing IT exports to $25 billion over the next five years. Officials outlined plans to expand the number of freelancers in the country from the current 1.4 million to 2 million within the next two years.
It was also highlighted that by June 2025, more than 300,000 individuals will be trained under the DigiSkills program, aiming to enhance the skills and capabilities of Pakistan's digital workforce.
The Prime Minister appreciated the ministry's efforts and emphasized the importance of leveraging technology for economic growth and job creation.
