Protests Continue for the Fourth Day Against Arrests of Dr. Mah Rang Baloch and Others

Quetta: Quetta and several other cities in Balochistan witnessed protests for the fourth consecutive day against the arrest of Dr. Mah Rang Baloch and other leaders and members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC).

These demonstrations were organized by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee and the Balochistan National Party (BNP).

In Quetta, authorities did not allow the Baloch Yakjehti Committee to hold a demonstration. Police used tear gas to disperse protestors and made several arrests.

The Balochistan National Party had called for protests across the province against the arrests. In Quetta, a demonstration was held outside the Quetta Press Club under BNP's leadership.

Leaders from the Awami National Party (ANP) and the National Democratic Movement (NDM) also participated in the demonstration in solidarity with the arrested activists.

BNP leader Sajid Tareen Advocate, ANP’s provincial president Asghar Khan Achakzai, and NDM leader Ahmad Jan Kakar, among others, addressed the protest and condemned the arrests and alleged torture of Baloch Yakjehti Committee members.

Meanwhile, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee had announced protest rallies and demonstrations in eight cities, including Quetta.

A rally was planned from Board Office on Sariab Road to the Press Club, but heavy police presence at Board Office prevented it. Police used tear gas to disperse participants and arrested several individuals.

Apart from Quetta, protests were also held in Wadh, Surab, Panjgur, Nokkundi, Tump, and Windar, among other cities.
