Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the conclusion of its protest in Islamabad, following a violent crackdown by the police. The operation, which unfolded on major roads such as Jinnah Avenue and Seventh Avenue, saw dozens of protestors flee, abandoning their vehicles. Police detained hundreds of demonstrators during the crackdown.

PTI Condemns Police Action: A PTI spokesperson expressed outrage over the treatment of peaceful protestors, describing the police's actions as brutal. The party also claimed that eight of its activists were killed, and the details of the deceased are now confirmed. The spokesperson added that the killings were carried out with direct gunfire aimed at party workers.

Blue Area Cleared of Protestors: Security sources reported that Islamabad’s Blue Area, including the vicinity around Khyber Chowk, had been cleared of protesters. The security forces had earlier launched an operation against the PTI demonstrators, detaining several while others managed to escape. Following the clearance, there were no ongoing operations in the area at present.

End of Protest: A Strategic Move: The PTI spokesperson also confirmed that the protest had been officially called off due to the government's planned actions, with further decisions to be made in line with the instructions from PTI's founder. The party condemned the police operation and the killings, emphasizing that it would review its future course of action. This marks a significant development in the ongoing political tension in Islamabad as PTI recalibrates its strategy amidst rising security concerns.
