RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA – Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense has forecast thunderstorms and heavy rainfall across various regions of the Kingdom through Sunday, urging residents to take precautionary measures. According to reports by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Riyadh is expected to witness moderate to heavy rains, while Makkah may experience light to moderate showers accompanied by hail. The forecast also warns of possible flash flooding and dusty winds in affected areas. Rain is also anticipated in parts of Madinah and Najran, with lighter precipitation expected, while regions like Qassim, Al Sharqiya, and Al Baha are bracing for moderate rains. Asir and Jazan could experience heavy downpours that may disrupt daily activities. The Civil Defense has advised citizens and residents to avoid flood-prone areas, refrain from swimming in waterlogged regions, and steer clear of valleys and low-lying zones prone to flash floods. They further urged adherence to safety instructions disseminated via social media and other official channels. With these safety measures, authorities aim to minimize risks and ensure the public's safety as Saudi Arabia prepares for a weekend of volatile weather conditions.
