Amman: Saudi Arabia has delivered $30 million in financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority to help alleviate its ongoing fiscal crisis, which Palestinian officials attribute to restrictive policies imposed by the Israeli government.
The aid was handed over in Amman on Thursday by Mohammed Mounis, acting chargé d’affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Jordan, to Palestinian Finance Minister Omar Al-Bitar.
Al-Bitar expressed gratitude to the Kingdom, particularly King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for their continuous political, economic, and humanitarian support for Palestine and its right to independence and statehood.
He noted that the Saudi contribution plays a critical role in sustaining essential sectors such as health and education. According to the Palestine News Agency, the funds are helping cover hospital operations, medicine and equipment procurement, school maintenance, and salaries for medical and education staff.
Saudi Arabia’s support for the Palestinian people has exceeded $5.3 billion across 289 projects.
Mounis reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian government in fulfilling its obligations and assisting its people amid current economic and humanitarian challenges.
