The Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) announced on Monday the launch of the AI League, a ground-breaking competition with a total prize pool of SAR1 million that will run from February 10 to the end of April 2025, further demonstrating Saudi Arabia's dedication to incorporating cutting-edge technologies into sports.
The project represents a major advancement for the sports sector and reinforces AI's significance in transforming sports.
According to a statement from SCAI, the AI League seeks to improve the Kingdom's competitiveness in the world of sports, encourage innovation, and develop talent in the sports industry.
Additionally, it will be crucial in promoting data-driven decision-making, increasing operational effectiveness, and providing a remarkable fan experience all of which will help create a more sustainable sports ecosystem.
The AI League will showcase AI’s role in enhancing sports performance and aiding Saudi Arabia’s 2034 FIFA World Cup preparations.
Participants will compete in four key areas: match strategy optimization, smart sports venues and fan experiences, talent discovery, and sports broadcasting advancements.Supported by the Ministry of Sport and SDAIA, alongside top sports and tech firms, the initiative aims to drive AI innovation in sports.
