Istanbul: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm support for the Palestinian cause during the opening session of the 51st Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Istanbul.

The session marked the beginning of Turkiye’s presidency of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, with Prince Faisal congratulating Ankara on its new role and thanking Cameroon for its previous leadership.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, the minister highlighted Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to end the war, ease the humanitarian crisis, and support unified Arab and Islamic action. He reiterated the Kingdom’s call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Prince Faisal also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for a comprehensive political resolution in Yemen, underscoring the importance of restoring peace and stability to the war-torn country.
