Trump Calls Zelenskyy a 'Dictator Without Elections' in Latest Criticism

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling him a “dictator without elections” in a post on Truth Social.

Trump criticized Zelenskyy’s leadership, stating that he had done a “terrible job” and warning that Ukraine was in danger of collapse. “I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues...” he wrote.

The U.S president also claimed that Zelenskyy had manipulated the U.S. into providing $350 billion in aid for a war that “couldn’t be won.” He further alleged that Zelenskyy was “very low in Ukrainian polls” and had refused to hold elections, suggesting this made him a dictator.

“The only thing he was good at was playing Biden 'like a fiddle',” Trump added.

Trump also claimed that his administration was making progress in negotiating an end to the war with Russia, suggesting that only he could successfully broker peace. “All admit that only we can achieve this,” he stated.

This marks the second time in 24 hours that Trump has publicly targeted Zelenskyy, intensifying their ongoing war of words. Zelenskyy had previously hit back at Trump’s criticism, accusing him of living in a world of rumors. Following this, Trump escalated his rhetoric with an even harsher response on social media.

The remarks come amid increasing tensions between the U.S., Ukraine, and European nations over diplomatic efforts concerning the Russia-Ukraine war. European leaders have expressed strong opposition to recent U.S. positions on the conflict, further straining international relations.
