Saudi Crown Prince Engages Iran, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan on Regional Peace Efforts

Riyadh: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman held telephone calls with the leaders of Iran, Iraq, Qatar, and Pakistan to discuss the evolving regional situation following the recent hostilities between Iran and Israel.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Crown Prince spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. He expressed hope that the truce would contribute to restoring regional security and stability, while preventing further escalation. He reiterated the Kingdom’s consistent stance that disputes must be resolved through diplomatic dialogue and peaceful means.

The ceasefire followed a spike in regional tensions after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched missile strikes targeting Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest U.S. military installation in the region.

In a separate call with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Crown Prince reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full support for Qatar and strongly condemned the Iranian attack, describing it as an “unjustified and blatant aggression” and a violation of international norms and the principles of good neighborliness.

The Crown Prince also spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and Pakistani Prime Minister. During both conversations, the leaders welcomed the ceasefire and emphasized the urgent need to strengthen collective efforts to uphold regional peace and stability.

The calls reflect Saudi Arabia’s active diplomatic engagement in promoting calm across the region and preventing further conflict.
