Turkish prosecutors have prepared an indictment calling for a prison sentence of 72 to 240 years for Hakan Ates, the CEO of Denizbank, in connection with an alleged fraud case involving high-profile soccer stars. The indictment, reported by the state-run Anadolu news agency, pertains to a prior investigation into the defrauding of players, including Turkey's Arda Turan and Uruguay's Fernando Muslera.

The charges involve a former branch manager of Denizbank, who allegedly manipulated financial transactions to defraud the players. Denizbank has denied any involvement in the wrongdoing, and both Ates and former assistant general manager Mehmet Aydogdu, who faces similar charges, have refuted the allegations outlined in the indictment.

In response to the reported details, Denizbank issued a statement late Tuesday, emphasizing that the bank had not received any official information related to the ongoing prosecutor’s investigation, which had been widely covered by the media.
