Dubai: The Baseball Governing Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to growing baseball in the UAE, focusing on developing local talent and promoting the sport nationwide. Chairman Dr. Tayyab Kamali said the committee aims “to create opportunities for the sport’s promotion by nurturing talent.”
In an official statement, the committee, composed of Dr. Kamali, Zayed Abbas, and Mubashshir Usmani, said it continues to explore new avenues for the sport’s expansion across the Emirates. Their efforts focus on grassroots development and engaging young athletes.
The Emirates Cricket Board has governed baseball in the UAE since a 2023 government directive. Since then, the Baseball Governing Committee has laid the foundation for growth.
Dr. Kamali confirmed that the committee is working on establishing baseball academies and organizing world-class events in the country. He added that partnerships with international baseball organizations are being pursued, with major announcements expected soon.
The committee’s vision is to integrate baseball into the local sports culture and build a sustainable development model that ensures the game’s long-term success in the region.
