DUBAI: Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, launched Schneider Electric’s Dh100 million education initiative, aimed at empowering young talent and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation and sustainability.
The initiative was announced during the official inauguration of Schneider Electric’s new regional headquarters, “The NEST,” at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The office is the first of the company’s Global Impact Buildings and marks a strategic investment in Dubai’s sustainable digital economy.
Sheikh Mansoor said the new initiative aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to place Dubai among the world’s top three urban economies within a decade.
He highlighted the emirate’s commitment to innovation, knowledge-driven growth, and talent development, noting that partnerships with global companies are vital to shaping a resilient and future-ready economy.
The Dh100 million, five-year program will be rolled out in phases, focusing on sustainability education, modernizing engineering labs, and creating practical learning opportunities through mentorship and applied research in collaboration with academic institutions.
Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, said the launch underlines the strength of Dubai’s innovation ecosystem and reflects ongoing support for global businesses like Schneider Electric in advancing smart urban development.
Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Cluster at Schneider Electric, affirmed the company’s commitment to upskilling Emirati youth and supporting a competitive, knowledge-based economy.
The company will continue to run programs such as Tamayuz and FEM in STEM, as well as the NextGen Go Green initiative launched at COP28.
The new Schneider Electric headquarters spans 10,000 square meters and serves as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability-focused progress.
