RIYADH: Under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, the Academy honored the winners of the 2024 King Salman Global Academy Prize for Arabic Language on Sunday. The prestigious awards, now in their third edition, celebrate outstanding contributions to Arabic language teaching, computing, research, and linguistic community initiatives. 

Focus Areas and Prize Allocation

The awards span four key categories:

• Arabic Language Teaching and Learning

• Arabic Language Computing and Service through Modern Technologies

• Arabic Language Research and Scientific Studies

• Promoting Linguistic Awareness and Creating Linguistic Community Initiatives

The total prize fund of SAR 1,600,000 was divided among the winners, with each recipient in the four fields awarded SAR 200,000.

Evaluation and Recognition: Submissions were rigorously evaluated by judging committees, using precise criteria to measure creativity, innovation, impact, and effectiveness. The winners were selected following detailed scientific discussions and analysis. The awards aim to honor individuals and institutions excelling in preserving the Arabic language, fostering Arab culture, and promoting linguistic identity. By recognizing their efforts, the initiative seeks to deepen loyalty to the language and enhance communication within the Arab community. This annual recognition highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting the Arabic language on a global scale and celebrating its vital role in cultural and linguistic heritage.
