According to a report from PWInsider, Goldberg is scheduled to appear on the June 16 episode of WWE RAW in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Sources close to WWE suggest that the 57-year-old icon will maintain a regular on-screen presence in the weeks leading up to Saturday Night’s Main Event, scheduled for later this month in Atlanta, Georgia.
While WWE has yet to officially confirm that the Atlanta show will feature Goldberg’s farewell bout, the event has long been rumored as the likely venue for the former Universal Champion’s final in-ring appearance. The show’s location in Atlanta — Goldberg’s hometown — adds further weight to the speculation.
As of now, no opponent has been officially announced, but recent developments hint at potential storylines. On this week’s RAW in Phoenix, Gunther regained the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso, and it’s believed that WWE initially considered having Goldberg appear as part of that segment. However, the creative team reportedly delayed his comeback to build anticipation for the June 16 show.
