KSrelief’s Global Humanitarian Impact Commended at UN Donor Support Meeting

Jersey: Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Supervisor General for Planning and Development at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and Saudi Arabia’s representative in the Donor Support Group for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), participated in a high-level meeting held in Jersey, UK.

Organized by the UN Pooled Fund Working Group, the meeting brought together senior representatives from donor nations and international humanitarian organizations to enhance coordination and improve global aid effectiveness.

In his address, Al-Ghamdi stressed the importance of joint action among donor countries and UN bodies to ensure fair and efficient delivery of aid, particularly to the most vulnerable populations.

He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment, under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to advancing global humanitarian efforts. He highlighted the Kingdom’s status as one of the world’s largest humanitarian donors, noting KSrelief’s initiatives in over 100 countries in collaboration with international and UN agencies.

Since its inception in May 2015, KSrelief has implemented 3,438 projects valued at more than $7.9 billion in 107 countries, addressing critical sectors such as food security, health, education, water and sanitation, emergency relief, and more.

Participants at the meeting commended Saudi Arabia’s key role in global humanitarian support and underscored the importance of sustaining international cooperation to ensure lasting impact.
