Pakistan's Intelligence Agencies to Identify Social Media Propaganda Culprits

Islamabad, Pakistan – In a historic move, all intelligence agencies in Pakistan will work together to identify individuals involved in spreading false propaganda on social media.

According to an official notification, a seven-member committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The committee includes key representatives from various government and security bodies:

Joint Secretary of Interior and Information

Director of Cyber Crime Wing, FIA

Director of IT, Information Department

Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB)

DIG Islamabad Police

Representatives from Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI)

The initiative marks a unified effort to curb misinformation and strengthen cyber security in the country. The committee's mandate will include identifying, analyzing, and taking action against those involved in spreading fake narratives or propaganda online.
