Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has marked a major achievement in entrepreneurship, with its capital, Riyadh, climbing 60 spots over the past three years to rank 23rd among the world’s top 100 emerging startup ecosystems.
The milestone was highlighted in the "Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2025," issued by Startup Genome in collaboration with the Global Entrepreneurship Network.
The report credits the Kingdom’s progress to its robust venture capital landscape, advanced infrastructure, and growing innovation in emerging technologies.
It also recognized strong government support, particularly from the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at), which plays a pivotal role in building an integrated entrepreneurial environment and enhancing regulatory frameworks.
This progress aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to boost the startup sector’s contribution to the national economy. The Kingdom ranked second in overall performance in the Middle East and North Africa, third in funding volume and investment impact, and fourth in talent availability.
