Kuwait: Saudi Arabia outlined its vision for a joint Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) food security strategy during an extraordinary meeting of the GCC Undersecretaries of Agriculture and Food Security Committee held in Kuwait.
The meeting was chaired by Khalid Ali Al-Sunaidi, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat, and attended by senior agriculture and food security officials from all member states.
Leading the Saudi delegation, Eng. Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Ayada, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, praised the collaborative efforts of GCC countries in shaping a unified food security strategy and defining its main objectives.
He said that food security remains a top priority for GCC leadership, with its successful implementation depending on effective coordination between government bodies, the private sector, and civil society organizations.
