MINA: Saudi Arabia has reached new milestones in integration, efficiency, and service delivery during this year’s Hajj season, according to the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah.
Speaking at an annual reception for dignitaries and senior Islamic figures held Saturday in Mina and attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Al-Rabiah highlighted several key achievements.
Among the major developments was the launch of the Hajj Transport Center, which served as a central hub for managing transportation across Makkah and the holy sites.
Al-Rabiah also noted a 75% increase in electric power capacity at the holy sites, supported by investments exceeding SR3 billion ($800 million).
On the logistical front, the minister reported the arrival of over 7,000 flights from 238 global destinations, along with the operation of 4,700 Haramain High-Speed Railway trips and 2,500 shuttle bus journeys, backed by the deployment of over 20,000 buses.
In the healthcare sector, hospital bed capacity expanded by more than 60%, and a new emergency hospital was inaugurated. Additionally, 71 rapid response units were deployed, tripling emergency response capacity compared to previous years.
Al-Rabiah also highlighted the success of the “No Hajj Without a Permit” campaign, which aimed to maintain order, ensure safety, and enhance crowd management.
In terms of volunteer efforts, the Ministry of Health announced the participation of over 5,000 health volunteers who supported preventive, therapeutic, and support services throughout the holy sites. The initiative is part of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Guests of God Service Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to boost volunteer engagement in Hajj services.
Authorities further commended the role of advanced technology and digital platforms, which helped streamline pilgrim movement and improve access to services. Thousands of security personnel, health workers, and volunteers were deployed to support the pilgrimage.
