ABU DHABI: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call with Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, according to state media.
The two leaders reviewed avenues for enhancing cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the escalating situation in the Middle East following Israeli military operations against Iran.
Both leaders stressed the importance of stepping up diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, avoid the spread of conflict, and resolve disputes through dialogue to safeguard regional peace and stability.
