RIYADH: The White House on Tuesday expressed gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for facilitating critical discussions on safe navigation in the Black Sea.
“The United States expresses gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his leadership and hospitality in once again facilitating these important discussions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the White House stated.
During talks in Riyadh, the US reached separate agreements with Russia and Ukraine to ensure the security of the Black Sea, a vital trade route for agricultural goods.
The discussions, attended by US and Saudi officials, aimed to address pressing issues between the two warring nations, marking initial steps toward a broader resolution to the conflict.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the talks as an early move toward peace, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed the need for guarantees, emphasizing that any agreement would require direct orders from Washington to Kyiv.
