February 4, 2025, Saudi Arabia made a major improvement to its civil services by allowing its citizens to use the Absher platform to get death certificates. Without physically visiting government offices, people can now issue death certificates for their first-degree relatives, such as parents, spouses, and children, using this new e-service.

The program is a component of the Ministry of Interior's endeavors to provide access to necessary services and expedite administrative procedures. To get the death certificate services, users need to sign in to their Absher accounts, go to "My Services," and choose "Civil Affairs". They can then view previously issued death certificates or issue a new one.

Steps to follow

  • Go to My Services > Civil Affairs > Death Certificate Services on the Absher platform.
  •  Choose the option to "Issue Death Certificate."
  •  All death reports that have not yet been issued are shown.
  • After choosing a report, select "Issue Death Certificate."
  • An electronic certificate is produced.

It is expected that this advancement will greatly lessen the administrative strain on families in trying times, enabling them to swiftly and effectively handle the required paperwork. Saudi Arabia's dedication to digital transformation and improving public service delivery is shown in the Absher platform's ongoing service expansion.
