Lahore: In a speech at the Lahore High Court Bar on Thursday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur advised his party members to refrain from making any remarks that could harm the party's founder, Imran Khan.
"I want to tell PTI; do not make any criticism that damages your cause or your leader," Gandapur said during his address.
Urging party unity, he called on PTI members to stand strong against their opponents. "As we say in Pashto, ‘Either I will break my head or I will shatter the rock,’" he added, emphasizing resistance and resilience.
Touching on historical political injustices, Gandapur claimed that Pakistan was once broken to bring Zulfikar Ali Bhutto into power, only for him to be later executed. He questioned the logic behind recently honoring Bhutto with an award, asking, "If Bhutto deserved an award, then what punishment was given—or will be given—to those who hanged him? This too must be addressed."
Gandapur criticized Pakistan’s establishment, saying they do not want real leaders but rather obedient followers. Referring to the 2024 general elections, he alleged massive rigging, stating, "This election fraud proves you don’t want elected people—you want selected ones."
He further asserted that Imran Khan is imprisoned only because he poses a threat to the system by advocating for the rule of law and supremacy of the constitution.
Despite the ongoing political crisis, Gandapur concluded by highlighting Imran Khan’s willingness to engage in dialogue for the sake of Pakistan.
