Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Strikes on Iran

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the Israeli military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran early Friday, which targeted multiple sites, including nuclear facilities, and resulted in the death of senior Iranian officials, including Hossein Salami, Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with another high-ranking official and two nuclear scientists.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom denounced the Israeli attacks as “blatant aggressions” that undermine Iran’s sovereignty and security and constitute a clear violation of international laws and norms.

The statement called on the international community and the United Nations Security Council to assume their responsibilities in halting the escalation and preventing further instability in the region.

The Israeli operation was described by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a necessary measure to counter what he called the “Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” adding that the military campaign would continue “for as many days as it takes.”

Following the strikes, Israel declared a state of emergency in anticipation of potential retaliatory missile and drone attacks from Iran.

In response, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned of severe consequences, stating that Israel had “set itself for a bitter and painful fate,” vowing that it would “definitely receive it.”
